Summer Volunteer Opportunities
High School Students Can Earn Service Hours this Summer!
Volunteer opportunities are available in our weekly Kids Care Summer Adventure or Summer Enrichment Camps. Read the descriptions below to learn more about each opportunity and how to become eligible for a position.
Kids Care Summer Adventure
As a volunteer, you’ll support licensed childcare staff members during a day full of activities, lessons, crafts, and sports. Volunteers help prepare materials for morning or afternoon activity blocks, assist during activity rotations, and interact with students during playtime.
Duration: June 12 – August 14
Location: Jefferson Elementary School
Commitment: Every day for one week, Monday – Friday; 9am – 12 pm OR 1pm – 4pm
Service Hours: 15*
Summer Enrichment Camps
Volunteer in camps like Clay Creations, Soccer, or Zookeepers in Training, while helping students in our community! Volunteers support specialized camp instructors to introduce new concepts, implement materials or skills, and answer questions if needed.
Duration: June 17 – August 9
Location: Jefferson Elementary School
Commitment: Every day for one week, Monday – Friday; 9am – 12 pm OR 1pm – 4pm
Service Hours: 15*
Lunch & Recess Support
Work with a camp instructor or Kids Care staff member to help transition students from camp to lunch to recess. Help supervise students, keep the lunch area tidy, and play recess games with students.
Duration: June 12 – August 14
Location: Jefferson Elementary School
Commitment: Every day for one week, Monday – Friday; 11:45am – 1:15 pm
Service Hours: 7*
*Some weeks students will receive less service hours because there is a holiday or abbreviated schedule during the weeklong commitment.
Requirements to Be a Volunteer
- One completed year of high school
