Carlsbad, Calif. – The seventh annual “Celebrate Carlsbad Day” at LEGOLAND® California, in support of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation and nearly 12,000 local students, will be held Saturday, May 1, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Specially-priced $15 “Celebrate Carlsbad Day” tickets include admission to LEGOLAND with park hours extended until 9:00 p.m. for the event. Admission also includes a coupon for $5.00 admission ticket to SEA LIFE Aquarium for admittance May 1st or 2nd and a special fireworks display at 8:00 p.m.
LEGOLAND will donate a portion of the proceeds from the event to the Carlsbad Educational Foundation in support of district-wide music. Funds will help pay for the cost of weekly music instruction for every elementary school student throughout the year.
“Celebrate Carlsbad Day” offers an annual opportunity to appreciate what it means to live and work in and around Carlsbad, while highlighting the importance of a strong, local educational system that thoroughly prepares our students for the future.
Student performances will take place from 3 to 6 p.m., interspersed with ongoing recognition of local corporate donors, elected officials and perhaps even a few hometown heroes. The proceedings will be taped before a live audience on LEGOLAND’s Fun Town Stage as part of this year’s Kids Are Worth A Million™ telecast.
“We remain so grateful for the special partnership the CEF has with LEGOLAND California,” said Valin Brown, chief executive officer of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation. “This award-winning family venue has consistently embraced our efforts to raise much-needed funds to help put music in every Carlsbad school as well as develop hands-on science and innovative educational programs that will enrich the lives of nearly 12,000 Carlsbad students. LEGOLAND truly understands the importance of education and is our largest annual supporter through this special event.”
“At LEGOLAND California, we believe strongly in the value of education,” said Peter Ronchetti, General Manager of LEGOLAND California Resort. “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to host Celebrate Carlsbad Day again this year to help raise funds for our local schools.”
The schedule of performances will feature every school in the Carlsbad Unified School District with the respective principals providing highlights regarding outstanding programs and teachers. The event represents a terrific opportunity for CUSD students to perform at a special venue, before a live audience and then enjoy the rest of the day at LEGOLAND with family and friends. It also provides the Foundation with an opportunity to recognize the support of our corporate donors. Celebrate Carlsbad Day offers a golden opportunity for the general public to visit LEGOLAND at a fraction of the normal cost on this special day.
