Celebration to be held at LEGOLAND ® California on Saturday, April 27, 2013
Carlsbad, Calif. – The annual ‘Celebrate Carlsbad Day’ at LEGOLAND® California will take place on Saturday, April 27th starting at 1 p.m. Specially-priced $20 LEGOLAND tickets include admission with Park hours extended to 8 p.m. SEA LIFE® Aquarium tickets are also available at a discounted rate of $7 each. Parking is $15 at the gate.
LEGOLAND will donate a portion of the event proceeds to the Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) to support district-wide science initiatives for students at all Carlsbad Unified School District (CUSD) Schools. LEGOLAND will also donate hundreds of free field trip admission tickets to Carlsbad students for hands-on science field trips.
This event will feature the unique opportunity for CUSD students to perform on the Miniland U.S.A. stage at LEGOLAND between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
“Due to a decrease in educational funding for our schools, CEF is committed to developing community partnerships within Carlsbad. Celebrate Carlsbad Day and the generous support of LEGOLAND allows us to fund district-wide science programming critical to the success of the 11,000 students we serve,” said Valin Brown, chief executive officer of the Foundation. “Since LEGOLAND opened its gates in Carlsbad in 1999, this award-winning family theme park has consistently embraced the Foundation’s efforts to raise much-needed funds for the Carlsbad schools. LEGOLAND California’s commitment to education and their partnership with the Foundation has made a tremendous impact on our community and we couldn’t be more appreciative.”
There are many sponsorship opportunities available and CEF invites all Carlsbad corporations and small businesses to get involved. Sponsorship levels include a live check presentation on a special stage in Miniland U.S.A. during a two hour live show, a company banner displayed on the stage and numerous other promotional opportunities. Interested parties can call Patty Johnson, Director of Development at (760) 929-1555 to learn how to get involved.
“Here at LEGOLAND California, we believe strongly in the value of education and supporting our local community,” said General Manager of LEGOLAND California Resort Peter Ronchetti. “That’s why the annual ‘Celebrate Carlsbad Day’ is so important in our efforts and we are honored to support the efforts of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation to raise funds for our local schools.”
