CEF Gains Local Support for Students from New Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa

Recently-Opened Luxury Destination’s ‘Preferred Neighbor Card’ Helps Save Money While Funding Educational Programs

(Carlsbad, Calif. – November 13, 2012) – Local residents and San Diego County visitors are encouraged to purchase a “Preferred Neighbor Card” though the Carlsbad Educational Foundation. The card qualifies users for exclusive savings at the new Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa. Each $10 card purchased provides preferred pricing on virtually everything the new resort has to offer, while also helping fund worthwhile programs for the 11,000 students enrolled in the Carlsbad Unified School District. All proceeds from the $10 card purchases will directly benefit the Carlsbad Educational Foundation.

“The Preferred Neighbor Card is a great way to experience Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort and Spa,” said Renato Alesiani, CEO of WaveCrest Hotels and Resorts, which owns Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa. “Come relax in our award-winning spa, enjoy a great evening in one of our luxury guest rooms or have our executive chef Pascal Vignau please your palate with one of his culinary creations. We are excited to be a part of the Carlsbad community and to partner with the Carlsbad Educational Foundation to support our local schools.”

Preferred Neighbor cards can be purchased online at www.carlsbaded.org. Aside from being able to buy an unlimited quantity of cards, purchasers will have the option to donate $2 from each card purchase directly to the CUSD school of their choice. Additionally, one winner will be drawn randomly from all the card purchases to win a luxurious weekend stay at the new Hilton, including a spa treatment and dinner at the award-winning Chandler’s restaurant.

“CEF is excited about the new partnership, which is a win-win for everyone involved,” said Valin Brown, CEO of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation. “The Hilton property will gain many new customers and receive added exposure within the area, while CUSD students will receive much-needed funding for programs and initiatives that otherwise could not be provided.”
