Carlsbad, Calif. – The annual ‘Celebrate Carlsbad Day™ at LEGOLAND® California will take place on Sunday, May 4th starting at 1 p.m. Specially-priced $25 LEGOLAND tickets include admission with Park hours extended to 8 p.m. SEA LIFE® Aquarium tickets are also available at a discounted rate of $8 each with admission to the Park starting at 9 a.m. Parking is $15 at the gate.
LEGOLAND will donate a portion of the event proceeds to the Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) to support district-wide science initiatives for students at all Carlsbad Unified School District (CUSD) Schools. LEGOLAND will also donate hundreds of free field trip admission tickets to Carlsbad students for hands-on science field trips.
This event features the unique opportunity for CUSD students to perform and donor recognition to take place on a special stage in Miniland U.S.A. at LEGOLAND on May 4th between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
“Due to the decrease in state funding for our schools, CEF is committed to developing community partnerships within Carlsbad. Since the first community day in 2004 and the first ‘Celebrate Carlsbad Day‘ in 2008, the generous support of LEGOLAND hasallowed us to fund district-wide science programming critical to the success of the 11,000 students we serve,” said Valin Brown, chief executive officer of the Foundation.
“Since LEGOLAND opened its gates in Carlsbad in 1999, this award-winning family theme park has consistently embraced the Foundation’s efforts to raise much-needed funds for the Carlsbad schools. LEGOLAND California’s commitment to education and their partnership with the Foundation has made a tremendous impact on our community and we couldn’t be more appreciative.”
There are many sponsorship opportunities available and CEF invites corporations and small businesses to get involved. Sponsorship levels include a live check presentation during the two hour live show, a company banner displayed on the stage and numerous other promotional opportunities. Interested parties can call Patty Johnson, Director of Development at (760) 929-1555 to learn how to get involved.
“Here at LEGOLAND California, we believe strongly in the value of education and supporting our local community,” said General Manager of LEGOLAND California Resort Peter Ronchetti. “That’s why the annual ‘Celebrate Carlsbad Day’ is so important in our efforts and we are honored to support the efforts of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation to raise funds for our local schools.”

About the Carlsbad Educational Foundation
The Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 1983 to raise private support for public education and programs that support educational excellence for 11,000 students in the Carlsbad Unified School District. CEF provides increased educational opportunities for all students in the Carlsbad Unified School District by developing and funding impactful programs.
Funding over half a million dollars in support annually, since its inception, the foundation has contributed $6 million to Carlsbad schools for hands-on science, district-wide music, educational innovation and technology. CEF also operates a licensed daily, before and after school Kids’ Care program to support working parents, weekly summer and after-school enrichment camps for kindergarten through middle school-aged kids, and a CEF Summer Academy to provide advancement credit classes for high school students. Participants in these summer enrichment programs do not need to be registered in the Carlsbad Unified School District. For more information, visit http://www.carlsbaded.org/.
